Hallmarked Sterling Silver Pendant with 45cm sterling silver snake chain.
Designed and made in Ireand.
Yeats poem, The Stolen Child, contains some of my favourite imagery and inspires many of my pieces. This pendant is an interpretation of the lines "in pools among the rushes, that scarce could bathe a star" and imagines the reflection of a bright star filling a dark pool while the small grooves on the face of the pendant hint at surrounding rushes. In the poem the 'faeries' are trying to entice the child to join them in their carefree world among the pools and gushing waters of Glencar. Yeats was a regular visitor to Glencar Waterfall which is now a hugely popular attraction among tourists and locals.
