This pendant was inspired by lines from the W.B. Yeats poem "The Stolen Child". The fairies are trying to entice the child to join them in their carefree world where they spend the night dancing and chasing bubbles "where the wave of moonlight glosses the dim grey sands with light". Here I interpret "the wave of moonlight" as a crescent moon in the form of a wave while there is an alternative interpretation of the same lines in the piece "Moonlight Sands" which shows a full moon.
